Diquark fragmentation studies at the CERN ISR

The Lamp Shade Magnet spectrometer was used to trigger on 30/sup 0/ pions of momentum >5 GeV/c in pp collisions at the CERN ISR. Forward pion and proton production in the trigger hemisphere indicate that hadronization of diquarks is primarily recombination resulting in high x baryon formation. The data support universality of diquark fragmentation in pp and deep inelastic leptoproduction reactions.
