Composition and structure of brown-coal waxes according to the results of mass spectrometry

An investigation has been made of the main classes of chemical compounds in brown-coal waxes using the mass-spectrometric method. Differences have been established in the dissociative ionization of normal paraffins, alcohols, and fatty acid methyl esters which have permitted the mass spectra obtained to be interpreted and the substances investigated to be assigned to definite classes of chemical compounds.
