Modified multiple scattering expansion with strong three-particle correlations

Nuclear reactions involving large momentum transfers require strong correlations among target nucleons. To provide an improved treatment of these correlations, a modified multiple scattering theory is formulated in which a fully off-shell three-particle scattering operator is the driving term in the scattering integral equation. Extensions and applications of this result are discussed, and the eikonal approximation considered.
