There has been recent interest in the study of the phenomenon of resonances in the absorption of radiation by dielectric weakly absorbing particles of accurate spherical and cylindrical shapes. The characteristics of absorption of radiation and the distribution of heat sources inside uniform drops of water with satisfaction of the resonance conditions have been discussed in detail elsewhere. The goal of this paper is to investigate the conditions for onset of resonances in the absorption of radiation by two-layer spherical particles as well as the changes produced by resonances in the distribution of the absorbed energy (heat liberation) inside such particles.
