Photoproduction of eta mesons on the /sup 6/Li nucleus

The partial eta-meson photoproduction reactions ..gamma..+/sup 6/Li..-->..eta+/sup 6/Li and ..gamma..+/sup 6/Li..-->..eta+/sup 6/Li* (E=3.56 MeV), in the photon energy range from threshold to 2 GeV, are analyzed within the framework of the impulse approximation. It is shown that a study of these reactions can yield information on the isotopic structure of photoexcitation of baryon resonances as well as information on multipole amplitudes of the photoproduction of eta mesons on nucleons. The calculated differential cross sections of the processes in question are characterized by strong forward directivity and amount to 10/sup -32/ cm/sup 2//sr. The possibility of identifying partial transitions to excited states of nuclei by registering the decay ..gamma.. rays of these states is discussed.
