Weak Galactic radio sources and the spiral structure near the sun

Journal Article · · Sov. Astron. Lett. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:6319510
A comparison is made between the differential counts of radio sources detected with the RATAN-600 at 7.6-cm wavelength in selected fields belonging to Milky Way longitude quadrants I and III. About half the population of weak Galactic sources previously detected probably represent objects associated with star formation sites within 1-2 kpc of the sun. These sources most likely have a radio luminosity of 20-50 mJy sq kpc. 19 references.
