Weekly scheduling system for electric power generation, thermal units and pumped storage hydro units operation scheduling

Journal Article · · Electr. Eng. Jpn. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
A weekly scheduling system for a power system consisting of thermal units and pumped storage hydroelectric units is described. The planner for the supply-demand scheduling forecasts the demand trend for the following week and then carefully decides the operation pattern of the thermal units and pumped hydro generators for coping with the demand. The program calculates the total operating cost of the thermal units in the scheduling period by adding the starting cost to the fuel cost. The system contributes greatly to the efficient operation of central power dispatching.
