Electron-impact--excitation cross sections for the transition (n-1)p/sup 5/ns. -->. (n-1)p/sup 5/np in the rare gases

Previous calculations on electron-impact excitation of argon and krypton have been extended to the analogous neon and xenon transitions. Strong-coupling effects are found to be important for the processes of interest.
