Landing nipple and plug
An apparatus is described comprising: landing nipple means providing passageway means therethrough; upwardly facing no-go shoulder means in the passageway means; locking groove means in the passageway means above the no-go shoulder means; the locking groove means including downwardly facing cam shoulder means; and plug means in the passageway means comprising: plug housing means; downwardly facing shoulder means on the housing means confronting the no-go shoulder means; metal seal means on sad plug housing means between the no-go shoulder means and the downwardly facing shoulder means; bore means in the plug housing means having threads adjacent the lower end of the bore means; lug means carried by the plug housing means; the lug means having upwardly facing surfaces complementary to and engaging the cam shoulder means; stem means having a threaded nose in threaded engagement with the bore means threads; downwardly facing expander cone means on the stem means for expanding the lug means; the cone means in engagement with the lug means and holding the lug means upwardly facing surfaces in engagement with the downwardly facing cam shoulder means to compress the seal means; and wrench means on the upper end of the stem means for threading the stem means into the bore means to expand the lug means and compress the seal means between the no-go shoulder means and the housing shoulder means to seal therebetween.
