He preinjection was found to be essential in nucleating voids in high-purity Al. Interstitial pickup in high-purity V was found to be important even under good vacuum (10/sup -6/ to 10/sup -7/ torr). Voids were found to form in V down to 200/sup 0/C. A model was tested against rdiation disordering/ordering in Cu/sub 3/Au. Disordering in CuPd was studied. A small negative heavy ion source (SNICS) was developed for the tandem accelerator. (DLC)
