Evolution of flux conserving tokamak equilibria with preprogrammed cross sections
The evolution of MHD equilibria toward high ..beta.. is modeled by magnetic flux conservation with a given q(psi) and by particle and energy balances which determine p(psi,t). One-dimensional single-fluid transport equaions, written with the magnetic flux psi as the independent variable, are coupled to the two-dimensional axisymmetric MHD equilibrium and flux conservation equations through psi and p(psi,t).
