Cliffs Engineering, Allis-Chalmers complete Indiana cost estimate

Cliffs Engineering and Allis-Chalmers recently completed an engineering study entitled The Indiana Oil Shale Project. The study provides preliminary design data and cost estimates for the construction and two-year operation of an Allis-Chalmers 500-barrel-per-day, demonstration-scale retort. The demonstration retorting complex consists of the retort, an open pit min, shale preparation and product storage facilities, pollution abatement equipment, utilities, buildings, roads, etc. The process to be used, the program schedule, and cost estimates are described. 1 table.
