The results of measurements made of the cosmic 3 K background at 0.3, 0.9, 3, 6.3 and 12 cm are reported. Five radiometers with Dicke-switched heterodyne receivers featuring low sidelobe corrugated antennas were used to gather the data in July 1982. Steps were taken to screen out extraneous radiation inputs from the atmosphere and galactic and H II sources. No significant deviations from a Planck spectrum in the Rayleigh-Jeans region were detected. A lower brightness temperature than previously reported was found and determined to exceed the 3-sigma limit.
