Effect of gap distortion on collective modes in /sup 3/He-B

We investigate the influence of gap distortion, caused by the dipole interaction or by magnetic or electric fields, on the order-parameter collective modes in /sup 3/He-B by the method of continual integration. The dipole-interaction-induced gap distortion splits the pair breaking, squashing, and real squashing modes at zero momentum q. Furthermore, a branch crossing of these modes with different J/sub z/ appears at nonzero q. Electric and magnetic fields also produce gap distortion with similar consequences.
