The contribution of the power correction to the pion form factor is calculated. This correction has the order of magnitude (..mu../sup 2//sub ..pi..//Q/sup 2/)/sup 2/ and is enhanced by an additional factor approx...mu../sup 2//sub ..pi..//m/sup -2/ (here ..mu../sub ..pi../ is the pion mass and m-bar = (m/sub u/+m/sub d/)/2 is the average mass of the light quarks); in the region Q/sup 2/< or approx. =30 GeV/sup 2/ it is greater than the leading asymptotic term.
