Dielectric constants of saturated liquid propane, isobutane, and normal butane

Conference · · Adv. Cryog. Eng.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6286399

The saturated liquids studied have been measured over temperature ranges from near their triple point temperatures to approximately 300 K using a concentric cylinder capacitor in order to determine the thermophysical properties of the major components of liquefied natural gas. Experimental equipment and procedures are described and the results shown in detailed tables showing the comparisons of dielectric constant data and Clausius-Mossotti values for propane and isobutane. Clausius-Mossotti function of propane and isobutane are charted as part of the result. Data from subsequent use of the same apparatus will be published in subsequent papers.
