Sequence of photos shows first movement of rock at top of highwall, full burden movement within highwall, and dispersion of the overburden in stages across the pit. Face shot averages 80 ft in height. Loose material at far end is from ramp leading up to highwall. After blast, 60% of overburden was cast directly to spoil. Overall depth of overburden remaining on coal was approximately 30 ft.
