Stimulated Brillouin scattering upon oblique incidence of a pump wave on a laser plasma

Stimulated Brillouin scattering is studied for the case in which the pump wave is incident obliquely on a moving, inhomogeneous plasma. Explicit expressions for the coefficient of convective amplification and the spectrum of the scattered radiation are derived in the geometric-optics approximation. The dependence of the scattered spectrum on the angle of incidence of the pump wave and the plasma expansion velocity is studied analytically and numerically.
