The Electric Power Monthly (EPM) includes comprehensive information about the electric utility industry in the United States. Detailed, plant-level data are contained in the Electric Power Quarterly. The summarized data contained in this report are presented for the use of a wide audience including Congress, federal and state agencies, the electric utility industry, and the general public. The data presented in this report were collected and published by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), US Department of Energy, to fulfill its data collection and dissemination responsibilities as specified in the Federal Energy Administration Act of 1974 (P.L. 93-275) as amended. Data for 1983 presented herein are revised and final; all 1984 data are preliminary.
