Operating efficiency of the world's more than 400 sulfur recovery plants must be increased to reduce sulfur emission. Unusually strict controls are being proclaimed by many governmental bodies which require careful design of new plants and improved operation of all plants to minimize side reactions and develop maximum recoveries. The Claus Process must be augmented with more reactors or other processing steps to reduce the sulfur emissions beyond past capabilities. This will be done to conform to pollution abatement regulations. The recovery cost of the incremental sulfur rises to 10 to 30 times the conventional Claus cost, and may make an otherwise attractive sulfur project unprofitable. Tabular data list cleanup concepts which have been tested and are being operated or installed in processing plants. These methods, with possible modifications, probably represent today's most practical approach for large cleanup units to meet the new criteria. Three very different processes i compared with a control value of 4,390 psi was obtained for dried tuff stone impregnated with 23.6arilyifer or existence, ahead of the hydorfluoric acid front, of a ures which might control the distribution of uraniumacterized by a thermally activated process. he effect of various parameters, temperature, pressure, and steam percent in hydrogen feed. The results obtained are compared with the predictions of various nuclear models, and the mass dependence of Q/sub 2//sup +/ in the region 182 < A < 206 is examined.
