DYMAC - The first stab at large safeguards systems

Conference · · Nucl. Mater. Manage. Annu. Meet. Proc.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6270686
This article discussed the evolution of the Los Alamos Safeguards Program that led to the concept of dynamic materials accountability and control (DYMAC). A plant specific DYMAC system was installed at the Los Alamos Plutonium Facility, TA-55, in 1978. This system was turned over to the plant management and is still operational today. Systems like DYMAC/TA-55 provide necessary and realistic data on the workability of near-real-time accountability in nuclear material processing facilities.
