Transmission shift control assembly
A transmission shift control assembly mounted on a tiltable steering column having a longitudinal axis and a tilting axis assembly is described comprising: bracket means secured to the steering column; transmission shift cable means having a portion secured to the bracket means and a portion linearly movable relative to the secured portion; cable driver arm means having a rotary axis and being rotatably mounted on the rotary axis on the bracket means oblique to the longitudinal axis and including a cable connecting portion secured to the movable portion of the cable means; operator control means including pin means for pivotally mounting the operator control means on the cable drive arm means on a pivot axis substantially perpendicular to the intersecting rotary axis and positioning arm means extending form the pin means; detent gate means disposed on the bracket means in position to abut the positioning arm means for limiting the extent of pivotal movement thereof.
