This is a quiet title action brought by the Attorney General of the United States pursuant to section 21(b) of the Geothermal Steam Act of 1970, to determine whether the mineral reservation in patents issued under the Stock-Raising Homestead Act of 1916, reserved to the United States geothermal resources underlying the patented lands. The district court held that it did not. The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit reversed and remanded.
