Hydrophilic high polymers prepared from aqueous solutions or dispersions of polyoxypropylene polyamine n-n'-polymethylene sulfonates

Patent ·
OSTI ID:6265199
Hydrophilic high polymers prepared from aqueous solutions or dispersions of polyoxypropylene polyamine N-N'-polymethylene sulfonates are described. The self curing aqueous solution/dispersion comprises 50 to 75% by wt water, 25 to 35% by wt of an N-polymethylene substituted polyoxypropylene polyamine, and 3 to 9% by wt of a curable polymer-forming component such as an epoxy- resin. The solution is useful for injection into permeable earth formations such as unconsolidated sands to consolidate the formation. N-substituted polyamines are employed in the solution to render the epoxy-resin component adequately soluble or dispersible in the aqueous solution and to act as the curing agent for the resin. 12 claims.
