Hadronic tau decay, pion radiative decay, and pion polarizability

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. D; (United States)
Using conserved vector current and the first Weinberg sum rule, it is shown that the ''missing'' 10% of the hadronic tau decay could come from the axial-vector current. This implies for ..pi -->..e..nu gamma.. decay, F/sub A/(0)/F/sub V/(0) = 0.50 +- 0.15, and a charged-pion polarizability ..cap alpha../sub ..pi../ = 5 x 10/sup -42/ cm/sup 3/.
