A tubular plate electrode foot is described for installation on a tubular plate electrode assembly comprising lead spines extending from a conductive bar, the spine enveloped by a porous tubular sheath, the foot comprising: a generally rectangular base portion; projections extending from the base portion, the cross-sectional configuration of the corresponding to the cross-sectional configuration of the porous tubular sheaths. The projection is provided with a spine recess conforming to the configuration of the spines; and slurry access ports penetrating the foot, with at least one the slurry access port in the projection.
