Jered becomes first US firm to specialize in unmanned vehicles

In an effort to cut the cost of undersea surveys, platform inspections and repairs, Jered, Inc. has become the first US-based firm to specialize in unmanned vehicles for the offshore industry. Jered, Inc., of Houston, is offering a fleet of Recon J vehicles which, along with all support equipment, can be flown to any site worldwide. Having begun operations last October, the company has already completed pipeline and jacket inspections and repairs for Mobil Oil, Tennessee Gas Pipeline Inc., Amoco, Sun Gas, and Aminoil.
