OSTI ID:6249366

Papers are presented on three-dimensional modeling of FELs using rigorous wave propagation; a model of HF-DF chemical lasers; analysis of reverse wave suppression in multiline chemical lasers; the effect of coupled resonator configurations on supermode discrimination; and numerical simulation of gain-guided laser arrays. Attention is given to the modeling of transient four wave mixing; Raman generator modeling; the effect of beam quality of transient refractive-index changes in stimulated Raman scattering; the Raman beam combination multiline option; and modeling and simulation of large solid state laser systems. Topics discussed include the optical performance prediction of high-energy laser systems; the simulation of a phase array experiment; FEL phased array configurations; the significance of multiple scattering in imaging through turbid media; measurement of refractive index spectra over snow; and the statistical properties of laser light scattered by two phase screens.
