AOSTRA issues ten-year review

The Alberta Oil Sands Technology and Research Authority has issued a Ten-Year Review document summarizing its work in developing methods for the economic recovery and processing of crude bitumen and other products from the oil sands deposits of Alberta. The Ten-Year Review of AOSTRA's performance was undertaken by some 65 external expert reviewers. They concluded that the overall performance of AOSTRA has been more than satisfactory and the authority should continue to pursue its mandate. This conclusion was reported along with recommendations for renewer or increased activities in some technology areas and suggestions for change of emphasis or new areas for research. 1 figure.
