Verification of SAFER code for rotor lifetime prediction. Final report
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:6239550
Many utility turbine generator rotors, manufactured by an air melting process, are vulnerable to early retirement because of their material characteristics and condition. The SAFER computer code, which estimates the remaining life of a rotor on the basis of boresonic inspection results, may show that these rotors can operate longer than originally predicted.
