Beam instability of the plasma in pulsar magnetospheres

The question of what beam instabilities can arise in the ultrarelativistic plasma of electrons and positrons near a pulsar is examined. It is shown that for the currently known parameters of the magnetospheric plasma of pulsars a beam instability can develop only through the hydrodynamic stage, and the beam may be smeared.
