One- and two-dimensional Lagrangian wavecode calculations simulating penetration of a conical-nosed steel penetrator into Antelope Lake Tuff are summarized. These calculations are used to investigate the validity of the cylindrical cavity expansion theory, which has been used to simplify the analysis of earth-penetration events.
