The goal of the workshop was to identify opportunities of energy conservation research, development, and demonstration in the textile industry. John Rossmeissl, DOE, briefly described in his opening remarks at the workshop the operative structure of the Division of Industrial Energy Conservation and how industry interfaces with the Division's overall efforts. Additional papers presented and included here are: Energy Conservation in the Textile Industry, Optimization of Energy Usage in Textile Operations, and Foam Finishing and Dyeing Project. Four groups (Textile Energy Management Systems, Preparation and Dyeing, Finishing, and Textile Yarn and Fabric) conducted round table discussions and their deliberations and recommendations are presented.
