Experience with a number of ice and chilled water storage cooling systems for US Army facilities is discussed. Topics include unique characteristics of Army installations for application of storage cooling systems, field performance instrumentation, and energy performance compared with conventional cooling systems. Efficacy of the storage cooling systems in reducing the peak electric demand for space cooling has been demonstrated.
