Associated production of Higgs and Z bosons from gluon fusion in hadron collisions

Analytic results for the {ital ZHgg} vertex are used to study the contribution of {ital pp}{r arrow}{ital ZH}+{ital X} from gluon fusion, {ital gg}{r arrow}{ital ZH}, at supercollider energies. Because of the destructive interference between the triangle and the box amplitude, gluon fusion is suppressed as compared to quark-antiquark annihilation, {ital q{bar q}}{r arrow}{ital ZH}, unless the masses of both the top quark and the Higgs boson assume values close to their theoretical upper bounds.
