Advances in cryogenic engineering. Vol. 29

Book ·
OSTI ID:6222034
This volume contains 116 of the papers presented at the 1983 Cryogenic Engineering Conference held in Colorado. The latest work of the most advanced researchers in low-temperature technology is reviewed. Topics considered include resource availability (helium, LNG), applications of superconductivity (magnets for fusion and physics research, test facilities, components of electric power systems, electronics and RF structures, cryogenic techniques, magnet stability), heat exchangers, heat transfer to He I and liquid nitrogen, heat transfer in He II, refrigeration for superconducting and cryopump systems, the refrigeration of cryogenic systems (Fermilab Tevatron), refrigeration and liquefaction, dilution and magnetic refrigeration, cryocoolers, refrigeration for space applications, cryogenic applications (space science and technology, storage and transfer of cryogenic fluids), cryogenic instrumentation and data acquisition, and miscellaneous cryogenic applications.
