Energy legislation: summary of the 70th session

Journal Article · · Tex. Energy Rep.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6218343
A summary of the 70th session of Congress notes that many bills died in committee and that energy-related bills numbered less than 11% of the 1185 bills sent to the Texas governor despite the economic impact from lower oil and gas prices. The bills dealt with tax relief for oil and gas producers and operators and for equipment not in production. Others dealt with the establishment of special fund for the money received by Texas from the resolution of oil overcharge matters. While the Texas budget will remain at the top of the Legislature's agenda during a special session, energy-related matters may receive only tangential treatment.
