Testing the effect of higher-twist subprocess in p-bar-p and p-p collisions

We propose a method for testing the effect of the higher-twist subprocess q/sub 1/+q-bar/sub 2/..--> pi../sup +/(or ..pi../sup -/)+..gamma.. through measuring a special combination of cross sections in p-bar-p and p-p collisions. The extracted higher-twist contribution depends only on the valence-quark distributions inside the proton and antiproton and so is more reliable.
