NMR and Moessbauer study of Nd2Fe14B

Conference · · J. Appl. Phys.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6212964

Moessbauer spectroscopy and spin echos nuclear magnetic resonance were used in order to study the hyperfine field (HF) at the six Fe sites and the B site in Nd2Fe14B. At 4.2 K hyperfine fields and Fe magnetic moments for the different sites in the range 307-372 kOe and respectively 2.05-2.48 mu-B have been found. The transferred HF of 31.25 kOe at the B site has a strong local character, being determined by the six next-nearest Fe atoms in the corner of the trigonal prism in which B atoms are located.
