The meeting was convened to discuss state-of-the-art applications of remote sensing in exploration programs, as well as research and development activities aimed at increasing the future capabilities of this technology for exploration geology. The presentations address the following topics: basement tectonics and their surface expressions; spectral geology; applications for hydrocarbon exploration; radar applications and future systems; engineering and environment; geobotanical remote sensing; advanced image processing; data integration and mapping; and applications for mineral exploration.
