Means Oil Shale Project - an update

Conference · · Proceeding, Eastern Oil Shale Symposium; (United States)
OSTI ID:6205107
Project sponsors initially submitted their development plans for the Means Oil Shale Project to the US Synthetic Fuel Corporation (SFC) in January, 1983, in response to the SFC's Third Solicitation for synthetic fuels projects. Since that time, work has been performed on various activities in order to meet the SFC's criteria for maturity and strength, to determine the nature and extent of the Project's environmental and socioeconomic impacts, and to maintain and meet SFC's requirements for full production by 1990. Having elected to withdraw from the Third Solicitation because of delays in developing private equity, the Sponsors resubmitted a proposal in June, 1984 for consideration under SFC's Fourth Solicitation. The major activities required for a project of this magnitude are reviewed and the scheduling of critical activities affecting the completion are summarized.
