Deflagration-to-detonation transition project. Quarterly report, March-May 1980

The activities of this project pertain primarily to the development of small, safe, low-voltage, hot-wire detonators. Its major goals are (a) the formulation of a modeling capability for DDT of the explosive 2-(5-cyanotetrazolato)pentaamminecobalt(III) perchlorate (CP); (b) the development of improved DDT materials; (c) the establishment of a data base for corrosion, compatibility, and reliability of CP-loaded detonators; and (d) the design and development of advanced DDT components. Progress is reported in detail. (WHK)
