Two-step process (p,/sup 3/He)(/sup 3/He,t) in the /sup 48/Ca(p,t)/sup 46/Ca reaction

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev., C; (United States)
We have examined the contribution of the (p,/sup 3/He)(/sup 3/He,t) two-step process to the /sup 48/Ca(p,t) reaction leading to unnatural parity T = 4 states in /sup 46/Ca. We find that the two-step cross section is more than an order of magnitude smaller than the experimental data. Possible reasons for this discrepancy are discussed.
