Hydrogen lines in the high-luminosity quasar B2 1225+31

The emission lines H..cap alpha.., H..beta..+(OIII), and L..cap alpha.. have been observed in the high-redshift quasar 1225+31. The ratios of line intensities in 1225+31 are found to be L..cap alpha../H..cap alpha..approx.0.8, H..cap alpha../(H..beta..+(OIII)) approx.4, and 4
