Collector field maintenance: distributed solar thermal systems

This paper reports on recent operation and maintenance experiences with distributed solar thermal systems. Although some information on system-level operation and maintenance requirements will be included, the emphasis will be on reporting collector field maintenance experiences. Operation and maintenance data have been compiled from three different distributed solar thermal projects for this presentation, including a total of 11 different collector fields. The three projects are: the Coolidge Solar Irrigation Project; the Solar Industrial Process Heat (IPH) Project; and the Modular Industrial Solar Retrofit (MISR) Project.
