Two calculator programs for Hazen-Williams pipeline equation

Journal Article · · Oil Gas J.; (United States)

Two calculator programs, written for the Tl-59 and HP-11C handheld calculators give either the pressure change, flowrate, or internal pipe diameter, given all other parameters, for water flow through a pipeline based on the Hazen-Williams formula. An additional feature of these programs is that they can handle any number of parallel pipelines that are connected at both ends by calculating a single pipe internal diameter equivalent to the set of parallel pipelines. The programs are ideal for determining the effects of changing a single variable (such as pipeline 1D or flowrate) since one, two, or any number of the variables may be changed without having to re-enter the entire data set.
