Challenge of Wall Street for smaller utilities

Journal Article · · Public Util. Fortn.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6194334
It is the thesis of this article that many small public utilities have financing problems resulting in part from failures to communcate well to financial analysts, brokers, and others in key positions (such as major shareholders). Further, these problems will intesify as the amount of funds available to them in the capital markets continue to shrink. But the financial managements of the utilities can create a distinct, strong identity for their companies in the minds of investors. The author suggests that the foremost action is to communicate with the brokers systematically, more widely, and more effectively.
