Electroweak test from the harder lepton's energy spectrum in Z/sup 0/. -->. tau/sup +/tau/sup -/. --> mu. /sup +/e/sup -/X

The harder lepton's energy spectrum for the decay sequence Z/sup 0/..-->..tau/sup +/tau/sup -/..--> mu../sup +/e/sup -/X is sensitive to the tau-couplings parameter xi..cap alpha../sub H/ where xi is the Michel polarization parameter for tau/sup -/..-->..l/sup -/..nu..nu-bar, and ..cap alpha../sub H/approx. =-2a/sub tau/v/sub tau//(a/sup 2//sub tau/+v/sup 2//sub tau/) where a/sub tau/ and v/sub tau/ describe Z/sup 0/..-->..tau/sup +/tau/sup -/ at tree level. Due to a factorization property, radiative corrections to such energy-energy correlations are as tractable as for A/sub L//sub R/; however, this test does not require instrumentation of longitudinal beam polarization.
