Parity violation in neutron radiative capture

The angular asymmetry of the ..gamma..-ray emission which occurs in the radiative capture of polarized neutrons in heavy nuclei is studied. It is found that the angular asymmetry which results from the parity-violating internucleon interaction depends on the parameters of the optical potential and on those of the giant dipole resonance.
