Reflection of electromagnetic waves from a moving ionization front in a constant magnetic field

A study has been made to determine how an external magnetic field affects the interaction of a monochromatic electromagnetic wave with the nonmoving plasma produced in a gas by a moving ionization source. The two particular cases in which the magnetic field is oriented perpendicular and parallel to the ionization front are studied. The results show that the field can cause important changes in the reflection coefficient.
